The Estate at Christmas. Every holiday season, the town celebrates with Christmas on the Common, in which town businesses hold festive open houses, local craftspeople display their wares, and everybody competes in the House Decorating Contest. Last year, the Estate offered an extensive Holiday Open House, in which were offered free tours of the Estate, an opened Gift Shop for browsing, and also inaugurated a Christmas Gift Shop. Offered were an extensive array of scented candles, Christmas tree ornaments, and tableware that promises to grow even larger each year.   The Decorated Foyer       The walled English sunken gardens   The Estate also hosts quite a number of Christmas banquets in the winter months.
